Our team is responsible for sharing the university’s stories with the world. We help our university community share all the successes, initiatives, research and teaching excellence news on a local, national and international stage.
We are the connection between journalists and members of our university, including faculty, staff and students across campus.
We help news media connect with university academics and other experts to gain insight, context, and further understanding of current news events for their audiences.

Share Your Stories
We are always looking for stories within our community, so we can work hard to engage media outlets to share them in print and digital platforms. If you have a story, research expertise or an opinion you would like to share with the media, our team can assist with writing press releases and editorial pieces, preparing videos and photos and then sharing them in an engaging and compelling way. Faculty and staff can submit a Project Intake Form.
Media Training
Our team can help prepare members of the university to speak with the media. Through training and interview tips, our goal is to refine your story for a general audience while being strategically engaging with the media. Email Delia.MacPherson@smu.ca to request a media training session.
